    Top Tory coming to Town

    Date: 22nd March 2005
    Released by: ANDREW TURNER

Former Conservative leader The Rt Hon William Hague MP will be visiting the Island on Wednesday 24th March as guest of honour at a lunch party for local party members. Mr Hague is coming at the invitation of the Island’s MP Andrew Turner and although this is a long-standing engagement, thoughts will inevitably turn to the forthcoming general election which is widely expected to be held in early May.

    Andrew Turner said,

“I am delighted to be welcoming William to the Island again. He last visited a few days before my election in 2001 when he was leader of the Conservative party and local people were absolutely delighted to see him. He is a very impressive speaker and over 100 local party members are coming along to hear him speak”.
