I would like to thank everyone who has supported the campaign for the OFT to investigate the cross-Solent ferry services. I have passed the OFT all the evidence I received and it is now a case of waiting to see what they decide. THey are expected to announce whether a full investigation will be held in May. I wholeheartedly support Andrew Turners campaign for the OFT investigation of ferry charges Even the introduction of the new Wightlink ferries on the LymingtonYarmouth route has now resulted in a greatly reduced and unpredictable service with ferries that are not userfriendly particularly for the elderly Carriers and couriers are now telling us that the Island charges are classified as offshore and therefore warrant delivery surcharges Routings are now going away from LymingtonYarmouth to Portsmouth with the attendant delays and therefore afternoon instead of early morning deliveries |
