I would like to thank everyone who has supported the campaign for the OFT to investigate the cross-Solent ferry services. I have passed the OFT all the evidence I received and it is now a case of waiting to see what they decide. THey are expected to announce whether a full investigation will be held in May. I cannot understand why the fares vary so much depending on how long you stay on the other side Recently I have made several day trips to the mainland on business for which I was charged £32 by Wightlink I think this reasonable When I go on holiday staying for longer periods the return fare can be up to £70 even if travelling at the same times but on different days What difference does it make to Wightlink if I do not return the same day |
